Meet Brian!
On a typical day, you can find Brian working at either Amazon or Indiana Title Network (or, on many days, both). Each morning, he wakes up around 5:20 AM, gets himself ready, and drives in his new red Toyota Prius to work. The Prius is his first car that he saved up for and purchased. After working 7 hours at Amazon, he comes home, takes a short break and then heads off to his second job at the Title
Network.
Brian is very hard working 28 year old man who has always had high goals for himself. However, unlike most people, Brian has had to face unique challenges due to his diagnosis of autism. Brian takes one day and one challenge at a time. While social interactions continue to be an area of difficulty for him, he is able to recognize and overcome these challenges with support from his team, who believe in him.
In 2011, Brian completed his high school education and received his diploma. Following high school, he decided to go to college at IUN with a focus in history. Along with attending college, Brian also worked part time an Indiana Title Network. College presented its own set of difficulties, however he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History in 2017. His next step was finding a job. While searching for the perfect job, Brian hit a few bumps along the way. However, in 2019, Brian was able to land a seasonal job at Amazon during the holiday season. After showing his value as a worker, Amazon offered for him to stay on as a permanent, full time employee. As he worked, he was able to pay off his student loans, save up for a down payment on his dream car and is now saving up for his own home while simultaneously saving for retirement.
Brian is also a fun loving guy who is great at impersonations, can play the trumpet, and is excellent at history trivia. Whenever he has a meeting or appointment scheduled on an important day in history, he will share this tidbit with the team.
Brian's goals now include working his way up at Amazon and getting his own home in the next two years. When he has some down time, he enjoys playing video games and watching TV. He also enjoys spending time with his family and dog, and spending vacation each year with them.
Brian is a very active team member in his meetings and is able to direct his services to meet his needs. He will advocate for himself and rely on those close to him to be honest with him about things he can work on. Brian is a shining example of how hard work and the right supports can lead to success.
