Say hello to Nicholas
Meet Nicholas!
Nicholas Hodell of Jasper, Indiana, created his own podcast series called "Talkin' Jasper Sports," and has published more than ten episodes on his YouTube channel! Nicholas has always had a passion for sports, and was ecstatic to have the opportunity to attend a sports broadcasting camp when he was ten years old. Since then, he has gone to three more similar camps around the country. With a diagnosis of autism, Nicholas' passion for sports broadcasting was his motivation to overcome the challenges he experienced with speech and communication as a young child. In fourth grade, he announced a teachers-versus-students softball game, and when he was eleven, he began working as the public address announcer for Ireland Little League games. In middle school, he announced the football games as well as some track meets. Now that he is in high school, he helps out with 93.7 FM "The Scratch," the school's student radio station. His conversational speaking tempo, cadence, and flow have improved dramatically through the hours of practice behind the microphone!
