Employee Owner of the Month: December 2022

Dec 01, 2022

Introducing IPMG's Employee Owner of the Month of December: Christine Hoover!
Christine was nominated for this award by a guardian of an individual she serves. The nomination stated "She is amazing. She helps us in every possible way. She is quick to answer any of my questions, comments, or concerns. She follows through on her promises. She shows up to every meeting. She is what all other case managers everywhere should be. She has genuine concern for the well being of my son! There are not enough words to describe how amazing she is."
Christine writes, "I am very honored to be nominated by the guardian of my individual I serve. I have served this wonderful family for over 5 years and consider them amazing as well. It has been a real pleasure to serve this individual and to have made a difference in his life. Over the years we have worked as a team to obtain a handicapped accessible van and to improve his IEP so that he can have a better plan that addresses his interests and not just the status quo. Watching this individual being able to access his community in comfort and seeing his progress once his interests had been addressed has brought me great joy.
I have worked with people with disabilities for the past 41 years. My journey began in high school when I was the president of the Junior Civitan club. This organization is an off shoot of the Civitan club which is a nationwide organization that serves people with I/DD through local projects, charitable events, and research funding all over America. It was in this environment that my passion for working with disabled individuals began.
I have had three careers in my life: Education, Law Enforcement, and Social Work. I was an English Teacher, Child Abuse Investigator, and have 10 years combined experience working as a team leader, house manager, and financial officer who handled the accounts of over 100 individuals. I believe that my unique background has given me the skills to be successful as a case manager.
I also credit my success to the excellent training and guidance I received from my supervisors. They were not only professional but personable as well. They assisted me with learning the various systems that enable me to navigate my job daily. My coworkers have also taught me many skills over the years. I am honored to consider them not only peers, but friends as well. IPMG cultivates an environment that not only encourages individuals to succeed but to also feel appreciated and valued.
On a personal note, I live with my partner Steven, and we have been together 15 years. I have a 29-year-old son and 2-year-old grandson. I enjoy spending time with my grandson and thoroughly enjoy being a “MIMI”. I enjoy reading and staying physically active. I have a personal trainer that assists me with my fitness goals.
Steven is a member of the PBA 50 tour. We attend several tournaments throughout the year in the Central Region. This area encompasses Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. We both enjoy attending these tournaments and have made many friendships over the years with other professionals. Recently, Steven had the honor of bowling with Walter Ray Williams Jr, and crossed with Pete Weber. While we attend these tournaments, we explore the cities they are in and enjoy going to zoos, museums, local festivals, casinos, and national parks."
Congratulations, Christine! We are so blessed to have you on our team!
