Happy Retirement, Roberta!
Sep 26, 2023
We have an amazing Case Manager retiring this week! Meet Roberta Mayer. Thank you for your 17 years of incredible work, and we can't wait to see what great adventures you embark on!
What have been some of your favorite things about working with IPMG?
The absolute best thing about being a case manager is interacting with the individuals and their families. I will miss them terribly. Seeing people achieve lifelong goals and being happy. And ESOP!
Do you have a favorite memory here?
When APS in Jennings dropped protective orders on many individuals, allowing them autonomy and self-direction. A couple of individuals were so happy these orders were rescinded, they felt it was a significant life-changing event. I was so happy for them. Another favorite is when we were still in districts and at a meeting Chris St. Paul reminded us, as my mother always said, "If you're not early, you're late!"
What advice do you have for new Case Managers and/or IPMG employee-owners?
Use your PTO! On your off time, turn off your phones and enjoy your life! Oh and look into adding extra money on your HSA, when eligible! I had no idea it could be an investment tool, darn!
What will you be doing after retirement? What are you looking forward to?
My husband has been retired for three years and has been planning a trip from Chicago to San Francisco, via the California Zephyr train, so we're going after Christmas. I am so looking forward to spending more time with my grandsons, without having to pause and "let Grammy check her email."
