Wrap Facilitator Janet Daniels wrote in to tell us about Alex:

"In September of 2022, Alex and his family began Wraparound services with IPMG, and later he began therapy with a new therapist in 2023. Alex has a behavior specialist at his school that he has worked with when not in the regular classroom. Alex struggled at first with implementing strategies, but slowly started to make progress. Alex’s family acknowledged that they learned a lot about how Alex thinks and what his triggers were. They relayed that information from the school and the mental health provider helped with that process.

By October 2023, the family was working together with therapists, mental health professionals, and medical professionals to help improve their dynamic with Alex and understand more about his needs. Soon, the whole family was seeing great progress. Conflicts in the family had decreased and Alex's caregivers expressed more confidence with their caregiving and parenting skills. The family is now entering the transition phase of Wraparound and they are beginning to feel confident in moving forward and continuing the communication and collaboration on their own. Congratulations to Alex and his family team for working together and stepping up and working through problems!"

Congrats, Alex!

Case Manager Lisa Schmidt wrote in to tell us about Theresa:

"Theresa is a strong willed and determined young woman. She has successfully worked at SkyLine Chili for over five years. She started as a dishwasher and has taken on additional responsibilities. She was such a strong employee that SkyLine began asking Vocational Rehab to help them look for new employees. Theresa comes to her meetings with a list of things she wants to discuss. She likes to choose a different location for her meeting a couple times a year. She decided she would like to be healthy and eat more nutritional food the last year. She learned to eat smaller portions, ordering from the children’s menu when going out to eat, and shopping for healthy meals. She lost over 50 pounds, reaching beyond her goal weight recommended by her doctor. Thresa has set other goals for herself and is working towards them. She is taking practice tests to get her learner’s permit and is close to achieving that goal."

Congrats, Theresa!
