Success Story: Meet Trinity!

This month's success story was sent in by Case Manager Mary Wirtz. Meet Trinity! According to Mary:

"Trinity is well known in her community for being a sweet and caring person, but she stands out as a very accomplished athlete. Not only has she earned the honor of being named the 2021 Posey County athlete of the year, but she was also named the 2022 Area 10 athlete of the year for Special Olympics. Trinity earned these awards by being the best teammate that she could be, as well as being an outstanding opponent with other teams. Her mother Tara stated that Trinity is always very encouraging to everyone and is usually the first person to give a high-five or congratulate someone on a great job. 

Her accomplishments do not stop there, as she also won the 2022 Spirit Award for Special Olympics. Trinity was featured on a huge billboard in Mount Vernon, IN for winning athlete of the year. The state of Indiana representatives came to Trinity's house and gave her a plaque and yard sign. 

This spring, she carried the torch to kick off the Area 10 track and field games for the summer 2023 season. Trinity earned third place in softball throw and in the standing long jump. She earned first place in the 400-meter walk."
