Case Manager of the Month: March

Christy Stordeur was nominated for this award by Margarita Alvarez, the sister of an individual that Christy serves. In her nomination, Ms. Alvarez wrote, "Thank you for allowing me to express my appreciation for my sister's caseworker, Christy Stordeur. While I had enjoyed working with our previous caseworker, the transition to Christy years ago has proven to be a good one.
"Since being Rosie's caseworker, Christy has always been very responsive to emergencies as well as being very knowledgeable about issues that have come up within the system and provides good, solid solutions every time.
"Christy is compassionate and she is so non-assuming! Her expertise is invaluable to Rosie's team and I know she always puts my sister's needs first and foremost in each situation. Thru several of Rosie's emergencies and hospitalizations the last couple of years, I am comforted by the fact that she is working in the background to make sure Rosie is never left unattended at an emergency room admission (this happened once!) and she follows up with me to see how Rosie is faring in each of these circumstances.
"On a personal level I don't know how she juggles being a full-time worker and a full-time Mom. She never seems stressed and always conducts herself in a very professional manner. While other personnel have been short with me on a rare occasion, this has never been the case in my working relationship with Christy. I always feel like she is 'for' Rosie.
"I wanted to take the time to let your Company know that I value and appreciate Christy and that I feel very fortunate to have her assigned as Rosie's caseworker. I spend a lot of time advocating for my sister and having a professional like Christy on the team makes my job as Rosie's legal guardian so much easier.
"To put it simply, SHE ROCKS."
Christy writes, "I am very honored that someone not only feels that I am worthy of CM of the month, but also took the time to nominate me in her busy life. I have been a case manager with IPMG for almost 8 years, and feel very blessed for my time here. I have grown to genuinely care about each of the individuals and their families that I support.
"I started out in this field about 20 years ago, taking many different roles. I have been a special education teacher at the preschool and elementary levels, and worked as direct support staff for many years. Then I decided to give IPMG a try, and I am so glad I did!
"I am married with 4 kids (Madelyn 13, Ryan 12, Mallory 8, and Natalee, 6). They keep me pretty busy! My girls dance and play soccer and my son plays baseball pretty much year round. So there really isn't a weekend that isn't spent cheering them on but I love all of it! Each year we take a 2 week vacation to Disney to relax and take a break from our usual activities. This is my favorite 2 weeks of the year!
